Transient Memorials
This ongoing project explores the relatively new phenomenon of placing flowers at the site of death and not the site of burial.
The previously private expression of grief becomes public. The placement of flowers extends to toys, shirts, notes, drinks.
This is a public site with contributions by strangers as well as family and friends.
At this stage the project is concerned with documenting some of the sites to initiate an enquiry, through the images, into the nature and cause of this changing cultural custom.
